Safer Merthyr Tydfil welcomed local councillors, partner agency representatives and service users to view and celebrate our work with local people. We heard from young people, via digital stories, who accessed our Moving Ahead Project, a survivor who had received support from our Homesafe Service and Domestic Abuse Resource Team and the words of a perpetrator of domestic abuse attending the Believe In Change programme, citing in their own terms how SMT’s services had assisted them in making positive changes to their lives.
The new South Wales Police and Crime Commissioner, Mr Alun Michael delivered a keynote speech on aspects of his Police and Crime Reduction Plan 2013-17. To view the Plan, visit www.southwalescommissioner.org.uk.
The Mayor of Merthyr Tydfil, Councillor Lisa Mytton was also in attendance and officially launched our new website and social media strategy.
