The Drive Project: South Wales (Cardiff)
The Drive Project is a community-based intervention for perpetrators (service users) of domestic abuse whose victims are assessed as at a high risk of significant harm or fatality, aged 16 years and over. The service offers a risk and needs led response that proactively works with this potentially involuntary client group in a multimodal way; striving for behavioural and attitudinal change. The service, delivered in the context of multi-agency response, provides a tailored intervention plan that meets needs, addresses offending and motivates active engagement in activities that will produce sustained behavioural change; whilst keeping the risk to victim’s paramount.
Safer Merthyr Tydfil (SMT) is seeking to recruit suitably experienced person to the following position: –
Position(s): Drive Case Manager
Location: Cardiff Bay Police Station (although the post holder will be expected to ‘hot desk’ with key partner agencies and deliver services from suitably identified community venues across the whole Cardiff
Hours: 37 hours per week (Flexibility is required as evening and occasional weekend work is essential)
Salary: £29,528.00 per annum
Contract: To 31st March 2020 (initially)
The successful applicant will have demonstrable experience of working with perpetrators of domestic violence and abuse (DVA) or other similar involuntary client groups. Applicants must have an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the dynamics and complexities of domestic violence and abuse (DVA) and its effects on individuals, families and communities. In addition, you must possess demonstrable experience and a comprehensive understanding of risk management and safeguarding issues.
A current valid driving licence and the ability to provide a suitable vehicle for work are essential.
This post will be subject to suitable employment screening checks which includes eligibility to work in the UK, Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, and a minimum of two previous employment references. The post may also be subject to additional key partner agency screening processes.
