About Safer Merthyr Tydfil
Established in 1997, SMT is a registered charity that offers services to people of all age groups that increases confidence and enables communities to feel safer. We have cultivated a reputation of trust and respect through understanding the needs of people and the issues they face in their daily lives. The organisation has served the community of Merthyr Tydfil since its inception however, SMT formally extended its area of benefit in 2006 to include a Wales wide remit.
We work alongside public services, Third Sector organisations and community groups to provide the best services for you.
What we do
SMT strives to help people within the community feel safer and more confident within their daily lives. This might be through providing support and services tailored to your individual need allowing you to overcome any challenges in a confidential and nurturing environment.

- Improvement of life chances
