Safer Merthyr Tydfil is set to deliver two of the seven projects contained within the Merthyr Tydfil Community Voice portfolio, MAGNET funded by the BIG Lottery.
The Visible Project aims to provide support and bring together, develop the capacity and promote the voice of LGBT communities within Merthyr Tydfil. This is an exciting new project for Safer Merthyr Tydfil and we are seeking to make a positive difference in the lives of underrepresented communities.
The Up & Coming Project aims to support and empower young people to have a voice in shaping local services, exploring issues that affect them and report to decision makers with a view to policy and service improvement. A key aspect of this innovative project will be to raise young people’s confidence and self esteem and provide the tools for young reporters to counteract the weight of negative media messages about young people and the area in which they live.
