Moving Ahead Project (MAP)
MAP is a targeted intervention scheme for young people who have offended, are displaying signs of anti social behaviour, or are at risk of offending. CREA8 ( confidence, respect, equality, aspirations) programme is support for young people aged 11 – 25 yrs who have been affected by domestic abuse and/or are in an unhealthy relationship. More
Healthy relationships programme is delivered within comprehensive and primary schools in the Borough together with alternative education provisions. To date, over 1900 young people have completed the 6 session programme.
Comets and Rockets
Specialist support for children aged 3 – 15 yrs who have experienced and/or witnessed domestic abuse.
The group sessions will run during school holidays and aim to improve children’s:
- Understanding of domestic abuse/ healthy relationships
- Express their feelings
- Communication within their family unit
- Confidence and well-being
Weekly play therapy sessions are offered which last approximately an hour and are held at the Teulu MAC for a minimum of 10 sessions.
A 10 week parent/carer group is delivered that teaches parents to work in a therapeutic manner with their children through instruction, demonstration of play sessions and support during home play. Parents are taught reflective listening, how to identify and respond to their child’s feelings, how to set limits and how to increase their child’s self-esteem during weekly play sessions. More
